This jolly chap is a rather nice sculpt with lots of interesting details such as his well-decorated fez and socks. Dennis Mize seems once again to be evoking Universal Studios-style imagery here; I notice he tends to do that with many male characters (in particular the fellows in the Village Mob set) where female characters are in the later (and sexier) Hammer Studios style.
I had great fun painting this chap, though having worked on him before the Ravenloft gazetteers were even out, he now seems to have much gaudier taste in clothes than would usually be given to a Barovian or Lamordian gentleman. To be honest, those all-black clothing schemes get pretty dull to paint after awhile!
